Re-branding a California Winery
Deaver Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery that sits on 300 acres of prime grape-growing region in Amador County, California--the Sierra foothills.
Deaver is known for its velvety Zinfandels, as well as Sangiovese, Barbara, and rich ports. Some of Deavers' mission vines date back to 1853.
We were tasked with developing a new website from start to finish, including design, writing, HTML coding, and photography. There's nothing like waking up at 5:00 a.m. to take sunrise pictures of vineyards! We even used a bit of FLASH for the opening. We also used Photoshop to touch up some old photographs that Deaver supplied.
We wanted to give the website the look and feel of a family-owned Sierra winery, so we used an out-of-focus California poppy (the official state flower) as the main graphic, and photographs to which we added sepia tone in order to give them an aged look.
