Albuquerque Reads (cont'd)

Following classroom instruction in reading and writing, tutors in the Albuquerque Reads program provide the opportunity for students to practice in a one-on-one setting that can hone in on the specific needs of each student.

Most companies participating in the program allow their employees to volunteer for the program on company time.

The Chamber is always looking for volunteers to help tutor. Before spending time as a tutor, volunteers must first attend a three hour training session. Tutoring involves approximately one hour per week between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
